Some lessons...although with a pinch of salt

As always i am completely immersed in trying to get non IT users use IT .Here are some lessons i jotted down today . Its hard to sell things to an NGO .The attitude, thought process is not there as of now. 2.Its hard to make people understand the pricing of a knowledge service. 3.Its very difficult to get smart and talented techies to the non profit sector. So building a good team is a challenge that will always remain. 4.Its frustating when things don't move .to really be in the midst of development means u have to be immersed which you rarely find people around you doing. As always its a lonely game...There has to be really a solid Internal locus of control .

Its been a while since I have had some free time for some reflection. The Deshpande Foundation's building and Kulkarni Memorial Building is being innaugrated today by India's most eminenent personalities, Narayana Murthy,Sudha Murthy,Abdul Kalam,Gururaj and Jaiyshree ,MP kore the head of KLE's Society all have come down to grace the occassion.Since our office today is a fortress I decided to stay back set some of our company's processes in order and reflect back. Development dialogue

A three day development dalogue came to an end of 29th Jan 09.The dialogue included sessions with Ashoka fellows, discussion of case studies and field trips to different ngos.It was a global conference and a good mix of people from both the profit and non profit sector. We had opportunity to showcase our business plan and get some badly needed feedabck. So apnaIT is now on the path of refining its model and making it robust so that we make sure we have all the ingredients of a fully scalable model.
