Life has its own colors,I have been away from the maddening corporate world for more than 2 months now and am fully immersed in the non profit sector. Of all learnings that I really appreciate is the profit sectors drive to get results and the value of time. I have done a few good things and will do a bit more in the coming months.. I lot is in store .. I do have a request Share the word of "India without Beggars"

Its been a long time,since I have slept on a weekend,so different from my corporate days where weekends so better off a time for friends and family.Its been a whirlwhind 2 months i have had less time to reflect,Sundays have looked so similar to normal days. We are in the process for doing somethings that are really exciting ,that pushes me hard and keeps my mind on. I slept for an hour or so ,when my stomach reminded me that I was hungry,got off in a dizzy and rushed for food in sleep. We would be off to Betta in the next half an hour,for a cleanliness cum awareness drive.We just expect that people would participate in large numbers and make our efforts worthwhile

With India's majority population depending on Agriculture for their livelihood its imperative that innovations really flourish in this area. Its hard and an unfortunate fact tha nothing can really replace agriculture atleast in my lifetime.

Its almost common knowledge that pesticides harm us in many ways that we can thinkwe.Yet a discomforting fact is that we see pesticides being used without protection in almost all places including educational institutions. The photograph is an gardener sprinkling pesticides without any face mask albeit a grave concern for both his health and health of students in the campus.

Kanchana and I were provided a name “Bagatgeri”.Little did we know the kind of place it is,it was expected to be a village and we were supposed to do a village stay and learn something. A quick check at the Hubli Old Bus Stand gave indicators of a not so good transportation system. We managed to get on a bus and befriended an Anganwadi worker in the journey. We had a brief sweet chat on reasons why people come to the city ,bus service is decent yet unsatisfactory buses are available at 8:30 9:50 11:00, 2:30, 4:30.There is also a bus from kadatgeri at 10:30 am As we stepped inside the village the Anganwadi worker left us with a group of villagers with whom we could further talk while she was off for her work. In the village we saw small shops few being exclusively managed by women, a barber shop that looked as fancy as possible-this was set up with help from BAIF-A livelihood Intervention organisation that is greatly respected for its excellent work.
